What the experts do for you
Every engagement can be anonymous and is free of any conflict of interest. Choose the one that fits where you are.
Multi-expert panel opinion
A panel of 3 to 10+ precisely-matched experts reviews and refines your plan — showing where the world's leading minds agree, where they differ, and what any dissenting view means for your decision.
Selection of specialists for treatment
We find the surgeon(s) or specialist(s) with best-fit expertise for your exact situation, then present your case to confirm the plan — with no conflict of interest.
Family Membership
Ongoing medical navigation for families — after an important case, or before a crisis develops. The same rigour and independence, kept on call for the people you love.
Our work is purely informational and educational. We help you understand your options and identify the right experts — we do not provide emergency care, prescriptions, telemedicine, or a doctor–patient relationship. More on this →
Most people arrive in one of three situations
You do not need to be facing a catastrophe — or be a billionaire — for this to be worth it.
A serious diagnosis
Cancer, surgery, autoimmune or neurological disease, a treatment disagreement. You want to know the best path exists — and is being taken — without losing time.
A persistent problem
Unresolved symptoms, a chronic or quality-of-life issue, an important fertility decision. You need a wider, deeper search.
Getting ahead of risk
For yourself or a loved one — often a parent — before anything is urgent. A nagging issue today can signal a catastrophe tomorrow.
Tell us your situation. We'll tell you honestly what's possible.
Within 48 hours, we had five different perspectives on our situation. It was invaluable.”Partner, International Law Firm
Your treatment plan, reviewed and refined by a precisely-matched expert panel
You came for a second opinion. Here is why you need more than that — a panel of 3 to 10+ experts chosen to fit every nuance of your situation, not the doctors who happen to be available.
01Assemble a panel that fits every nuance of your situation
A medical problem is a lock. A doctor is a key. A key must fit precisely to open it — and there are no "master keys" in medicine anymore.
No two patients with the same broad diagnosis are the same. Our only selection criterion is how precisely an expert fits your specific situation. Our Multidisciplinary Team [MDT] panels bring together multiple top experts from different locations, all working together to review and refine your plan — a method built for objectivity and impartiality.
02Search the entire world for your experts — we have no fixed roster
Our reach is limitless. The experts we select sit at different top academic centres — roughly 50% USA, 30% Europe, 20% rest of the world.
To identify precisely-matched experts, we triangulate three sources of data: (1) global medical research literature; (2) medical-conference materials, including abstracts on cutting-edge treatments; and (3) our extensive global network of leading physicians and surgeons.
See the full search method →03Review your situation, refine the diagnosis, and weigh every option
The Multidisciplinary Team we assemble reviews your situation from every angle. They help you weigh multiple treatment options wisely and suggest how to achieve the best possible prognosis — which is why we always work as a panel of leading international experts, not a single voice.
Why multiple views beat one →04Deliver a detailed, research-grade written report (50+ pages)
You receive every view and conclusion of the panel. What's included:
- Expert panel insights — a detailed review of all expert opinions on your case.
- Background & supporting information — the context, reasoning and references behind each expert's view.
- Relevant research links — direct access to the scientific literature for deeper understanding.
Why it matters: you have time to reflect and study at your own pace; you can ask well-informed follow-up questions; and further expert input is available — when needed, we consult the panel again.
Our report typically runs over 50 pages — in contrast to the dry one-to-two-page letter most "second opinion" providers send.
How we produce the report →05Keep you anonymous — to the experts, and even to us
More and more clients request anonymous reviews. Some have experienced bias in their interactions with physicians; some hold a sensitive professional or societal status and worry that attaching a name to their case invites a different bias — known in medicine as "VIP syndrome"; some simply want an extra degree of privacy.
Our anonymous-review option provides ultimate privacy and protects you from VIP syndrome — without compromising the quality of the review.
How anonymity is built into our process →06Why we prefer "expert opinion" to "second opinion"
"Second opinion" is the term people search and think in — but it breeds a false sense of security. A patient can feel "mission accomplished" the moment they have a second opinion, regardless of what it actually said.
The real goal is a diagnosis that is not just broadly correct but precise and complete — then the best possible treatment plan. Consider "estrogen-receptor-positive breast cancer" or "severe mitral valve prolapse": once sufficient, today these are not precise enough for a precision-medicine era. It may take one expert opinion or ten to reach the most precise characterization and the best plan.
And just because a hospital group calls itself a "tumor board" or "Multidisciplinary Team" does not mean it holds the best experts for your case. The best outcome is about depth of expertise and degree of fit — not semantics. That's why we use the term medical expert opinion. Precision matters.
You are our only client. We take no fee from any clinic or doctor.
No in-network lock-in, no kickbacks, no referral fees, no sponsorships, no venture capital. Nothing steers our recommendation except the fit between you and the right expert. This is our sharpest difference from a hospital's "second opinion."
01Our opinion is not a trap to lure you into expensive treatment
Hospitals routinely use their "second opinions" to make their only real recommendation: "come to our clinic for expensive treatment." When you travel, repeat every test in-house, and sit through rounds of consultations, it is a far more expensive proposition — even when the same experts could review you remotely.
It also locks you in for future care and can crowd out better or cheaper options elsewhere. A hospital won't advise you to be treated by another hospital unless they share a business group. Conflicts of interest are very real in healthcare today. We are fully independent of any clinic, company, region, university, or country.
02No kickbacks. No referral fees. Ever.
We do not "sell" you any hospital or physician, advance any group's interests, or steer you toward a particular method. We take no cut of your hospital bill and accept no "referral fees" from clinics or doctors.
Those payments are the standard business model for medical-tourism agencies and "best doctor" web portals — which have neither the expertise nor the desire to assess real fit, and simply chant "we're the best for everyone and everything."
03No ads, no sponsors, no venture capital
There are no advertisements or sponsorships anywhere in our venture. We are not funded by investors who demand revenue growth by any means — the pressure that leads to cutting corners and creates conflicts of interest. You are the only source of our fees, which is exactly why we can stay objective.
04This is not telemedicine — a calm boundary
Our services are purely informational and educational. We help you understand the crucial aspects of your condition and find the best-fit experts in the world for your situation.
No patient–doctor relationship is established with us or with the experts we engage — only a specific clinic can do that, and we are not a clinic. Within those boundaries, clients worldwide find our work crucial to navigating any medical challenge in the best possible way.
Get your plan reviewed by experts with nothing to sell you.
Convenience, speed, and precision. Your panel's view was a key factor in our decisions.”Partner, McKinsey Consulting
Find the best-fit surgeon or specialist to perform your treatment
Your surgeon or specialist is the single most important prognostic factor in your treatment — yet the criteria most patients use to choose one barely matter to the outcome. We find the doctor whose expertise actually fits your case, and present your case to confirm the plan.
01Identify best-fit experts to perform your treatment
The physician is the most important prognostic factor in any disease, so finding the right one is crucial. Leading doctors themselves put it bluntly:
"You have more information about a steam iron you want to buy than about your neurosurgeon."
"Experience is not everything. Knowledge is the most important thing."
"Some surgeons are very experienced but they do the operation in the wrong way."
02Search your region, your country, or worldwide — your preference
Different patients have different circumstances. For many treatments there is a strong regional or national fit; for others it is worth travelling across the world to the expert with the most relevant knowledge.
Travelling isn't necessarily the most expensive option — a precise fit often means faster treatment and recovery, lower risk of recurrence, and less need for additional treatment, which can reduce your overall costs now and later. We'll decide together how wide the search should be, and we're confident we'll find several highly relevant doctors.
03Explain transparently how and why we selected them
Healthcare is a notoriously non-transparent industry — driven by business interests. Most doctors agree it is difficult or impossible for a patient to apply the criteria that truly matter when choosing a physician. Yet the physician is the most important prognostic factor in any disease.
We explain exactly why we suggested specific surgeons or specialists, and give you objective criteria for those suggestions.
04Present your case to the experts to confirm the plan, logistics and costs
Leading specialists are booked months in advance, yet many conditions can't wait. Once we identify experts who could perform your treatment, we pre-screen your case with them — we help clarify the proposed treatment options, expected costs, logistics, and physician fit, without receiving referral fees or commissions from any clinic or doctor.
This familiarises a busy surgeon with your situation in advance, so when you arrive, the major questions are already resolved.
A client had a serious fast-growing tumour. We engaged one of the world's foremost surgeons for that tumour type; his team reviewed her MRIs, CTs and a concise clinical summary in advance.
On clinic day she was one of 16 patients waiting. The surgeon recognised her case immediately — not through any favour, but because he already knew it — and saw her first. Her appointment was Friday; surgery was scheduled for Monday, with no weeks-long wait for the operating schedule.
05Why patients underestimate how hard finding a best-fit doctor is
Patients tend to weigh titles, regalia, "professorial looks", office splendour and staff manners — none of which affect the outcome. Clinics emphasise exactly these signals, because they know they drive patient decisions and revenue.
What actually matters is knowledge, choice of strategy, technical skill, versatility, the degree of fit to a precisely-defined issue, and the coherence of the clinical team — and none of it can be reliably judged from an office visit or a website. The "Head of Department" or most senior doctor may not have the right knowledge or skills for your specific subtype and stage.
Ideally a surgeon has cross-training across several specialties (e.g. open surgery and endovascular procedures). As one eminent cerebrovascular neurosurgeon put it: "If you only know one method of surgery, you do all of them the same way."
06Few doctors turn down a patient who broadly fits — and that's a risk
Most doctors will be eager to treat you regardless of how precisely their skills match your situation — especially for "VIP patients" who demand the most famous name in the hospital, who may in turn lack current skills due to age or administrative load. Surgery departments dwarf medicine departments in revenue; it's hard to refuse a patient who brings it.
Your situation is a Formula 1 car — complex, expensive, unique. A surgeon is the driver. Put the car before ten drivers and ask who's best to drive it; they'll all say "I am" — and they should. But some fit that specific car far better, in ways imperceptible to a casual observer yet decisive to the race. Surgeons are the same, even when all are highly regarded and credentialed.
07Some specialists fit you far better than others of equal status
The best outcome is all about the degree of fit between a given doctor and your situation — precise, case-specific, clinically relevant. Several doctors may be equally credentialed, yet one fits far better. Do not confuse regalia and "grey hair" with the right knowledge and skill.
A less senior doctor in the same department may have deeper knowledge for your subtype — but you'd never know it using typical selection criteria. (Notably, patients have been shown to survive better when senior doctors are away at conferences.) Talking to a surgeon or reading their biography won't reveal how precisely their skills fit your precisely-defined issue. The same is true for non-surgical specialists.
Ongoing medical navigation for families — after a case, or before a crisis
No urgent issue? It's a good time to optimise your family's health trajectory — grounded in science, no hype, no grifting, no conflicts of interest.
One membership covers up to 5 people, and includes:
- Family clinical summaries — a concise digital history for each member (anonymously, if you prefer).
- A prevention & risk roadmap — health goals and an audit against US/EU professional-society guidelines.
- Physician-fit checks — relevance of any specialist you plan to visit, assessed within 48 hours.
- Referral guidance — relevant experts in Europe and North America (other regions where possible).
- Medication evidence checks — approval status and published efficacy/safety in major markets.
- Written async guidance — an evidence-based answer to any medical question, usually within 24 hours.
- 10% discount on all expert-panel and specialist-selection services.
—Who counts as "family"
Clients who buy a Family Membership often care most for someone of a "-1" generation — a parent, aunt or uncle — who frequently has the most immediate benefit. They also usually have partners and children. So we define "family" broadly: (1) parents or other "-1" generation relatives; (2) the member and their partner; and (3) their children — up to five people in total.
01Assemble a concise digital clinical history for each member
Most people have an assortment of test results, evaluations, discharges and office notes — typically in disarray, incomplete and outdated. Rather than enforce a single format across regions and systems, we listen to your circumstances and help assemble the crucial information in the way that works best for your locale. The most important record is the one you can access and hand to any clinician instantly, planned or urgent.
02Build a health-goals plan to reduce risk for every member
We identify the health areas to watch and audit preventive measures against US and EU professional-society guidelines. Optionally we research methods that go beyond formal guidelines, presented with specific references so you can judge for yourself. We always encourage you to discuss preventive actions with your regular clinicians — our work is purely educational and informational.
03Provide all other services at a 10% discount
If you need remote expert-panel opinions or specialist-selection on any medical issue, members receive all of these services at a 10% discount.
04Identify relevant experts and provide referrals
We readily identify relevant experts in Europe and North America; other regions are often possible but take a little longer. We'll tell you immediately whether we can find relevant doctors in your chosen location and specialty. As always, experts are selected solely on how well they fit the exact challenge at hand.
05Assess the relevance of any expert you plan to visit
Members often ask us to assess whether a specialist they intend to see actually fits their challenge — we evaluate the relevance of that physician's expertise within 48 hours. No country has a uniform distribution of medical expertise; in one survey, 35% of physicians (and 70% of female physicians) in Germany would not recommend their own hospital as a place to receive care.
06Facilitate discussion of a diagnostic plan or treatment options
Sometimes members want feedback on a diagnostic plan, treatment options, or specific prescribed medications. Some situations need an extensive panel review; many minor questions can be answered internally through a medical-literature search. We work via any asynchronous channel — messenger or email — not phone or video, because it's inefficient.
07Review any prescribed medication against major-market approvals
Many medications used widely in one market are not approved in others such as the US or Europe — sometimes a signal about efficacy or safety. We review prescribed medications against published evidence and communications from the US FDA and the European Medicines Agency, so you know what you and your family are taking.
08Structure an approach to any health issue within 24 hours
When you're not sure how to prioritise or proceed, we provide a brief, structured roadmap for approaching any health issue in your family — usually within 24 hours.
09Answer any medical question within 24 hours, with references
We typically provide written answers to any member's medical question within 24 hours, usually with one or two links to relevant research. We communicate via WhatsApp, other messengers, or email.
A standard checkup misses most avoidable risks and creates a false sense of security. We build a genuinely personalised plan instead.
01Standard checkups don't deliver "early" or "preclinical" diagnosis
The standard test list is largely a way for clinics to increase revenue. A British Medical Journal meta-analysis of 16 trials concluded that general health checks "did not reduce morbidity or mortality, neither overall nor for cardiovascular or cancer causes," though they increased new diagnoses. Canada has recommended against general checkups since 1979.
Mammography — one of the largest, longest studies (90,000 women, 25 years; BMJ) found death rates from breast cancer and from all causes were the same in women who got mammograms and those who didn't. A JAMA study put the probability that screening actually averted a breast-cancer death "well below 10%." The Swiss Medical Board recommended in 2014 that no new systematic screening programs be introduced. Mammography is still useful — but, like all screening, it works best with a thorough understanding of individual history and risk.
Exercise Stress Test — it mainly tells you a heart attack is statistically unlikely soon if currently negative. In patients with acute chest pain its diagnostic yield was just 2.5%; in women there was no relationship between a positive result and mortality. It says little about long-term (20–30 year) risk, and rare heart attacks after a negative test do occur. As Harvard put it: "the tide has turned against exercise stress testing of otherwise healthy" people worried about their heart.
02Risks to your health keep evolving — often hidden in plain sight
You don't eat the food, breathe the air, or keep the lifestyle of a century ago, and you expect to live decades longer — and healthier. So the real risks you face today aren't the averaged, theoretical ones in a textbook built on anatomy described millennia ago. You have to assess and mitigate the actual risks in your real life, and weigh the risk–reward of preventive measures accordingly.
03Science-driven mitigation can delay cancer, stroke, heart attack, dementia
Some screening tests, when their results lead to the right actions, can add healthy years — but neither tests nor mitigation strategies should be applied indiscriminately to everyone, which is exactly what cookie-cutter checkups do. A standard checkup misses identifiable, avoidable risks while "revealing" meaningless findings that generate revenue and anxiety in equal measure.
04How we build a genuinely personalised plan
We don't sell a laundry list of tests or a one-size-fits-all tracking package. We dive into your clinical history, review the tests you've already done, and study your extended family history — the basis of a truly personalised plan. We value cutting-edge technology but also the long-tested Clinical Method, and we trust the physicians who already know you.
From there we suggest a few tests to fill the gaps, review the latest research in the relevant area, and consult leading experts who specialise in your potential "weak link" areas. They provide insight into mitigation strategies specific to you and your goals.
05You receive a written report with tests, interventions and references
The report clearly breaks down your options to reduce risk and "optimise your health trajectory," with the strategies identified from your data, the relevant screening and diagnostic tests, and the scientific evidence for the efficacy and risks of each suggested intervention. It typically runs over 10 pages.
You can improve your trajectory at any age — start today. 80% of the time we make at least three significant suggestions that materially change a client's long-term risk profile. According to the longevity researchers we've interviewed, anyone can slow, or even partly reverse, aspects of aging at any age. A message of hope.
